The Museum of Antiquities was established on March 29, 2011, by Mykhailo Hnizdovskyi — a teacher of music and cultural arts.

Artifacts were collected from two regions — Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv, and are now beautifully displayed in a former school basement. The collection of the Museum of Antiquities was formed thanks to the simple principle: nothing old was ever thrown away.

For example, among the exhibits are heavy old millstones, on which young Mykhailo helped his grandmother grind corn. The museum now preserves her linen cloth dated 1955, a spindle, numerous embroidered shirts collected by Mykhailo’s mother, distaffs, heckling combs, flax rollers, a scutching tool used to separate flax from seeds, as well as pitchers, flasks, milk jars, butter churns, mixing bowls, and a straw sieve used for straining milk.
