Dmytro Paliiv – (May 17, 1896, village of Perevozets, near Kalush – July 22, 1944, near Brody) – political and military figure, one of the organizers of the uprising in Lviv on November 1, 1918. In 1920 – one of the founders of the Ukrainian People's Liberation Army and a member of its leadership team. Co-founder of the Ukrainian Party of National Work, editor of its organ “Zagrava”. Member of the Central Committee of the UNDO, ambassador to the Polish Sejm, prisoner of Polish camps.
Ivan Rubchak – (March 7, 1874, Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region – May 11, 1952, Lviv) – Ukrainian bass singer and actor of Galician theaters. Husband of Rubchakova Katerina, father of actresses Yaroslava, Olga and Nadiya Rubchakivnykh, father-in-law of Hnat Yury.
He performed as part of the theaters of the "Ruska Besida" society in Lviv (1894–1914), later in the "Ternopil Theater Evenings", in the New Lviv Theater, the Theater of the Main Command of the Ukrainian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and the Theater of the Red Ukrainian Gal. Army (1920), in various troupes of Galicia and Carpathian Ukraine (1921–1939, in particular, the "Theater of Revue and Operetta" by Bohdan Saramaga), the Ukrainian Drama Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka (1939–1941), the Lviv Opera Theater (1941–1944) and the Theater named after Maria Zankovetska (1944–

Oles Babiy – (March 17, 1897, village of Seredne, now Kalush district of Ivano-Frankivsk region – March 2, 1975, Chicago, USA) – Ukrainian writer and literary critic, author of the OUN anthem “We were born in a great hour”. Doctor of Literary Studies. Wrote under the pseudonym “Khmelyk”.
Hryhoriy Tseglynsky – (March 9, 1853, Kalush, now Ivano-Frankivsk region – October 23, 1912, Vienna, Austria-Hungary) – Ukrainian Galician public, cultural, economic and political figure, teacher, writer, critic.
Antin Mohylnytskyi – (March 3 / August 3, 1811, village of Pidhirky, now part of Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region - August 13, 1873, village of Yablunka, Bogorodchanskyi district) – Ukrainian writer, public and political figure, Greek Catholic priest, dean of Bogorodchanskyi (UGCC). He wrote in a language close to the folk language. Deputy of the Galician Regional Sejm of the 1st convocation (from the IV curia of the 26th district of Bogorodchany - Solotvyna, was a member of the “Russky Club”) and the Austrian Parliament in Vienna from the Stanislavskyi district. In Vienna on June 27, he delivered a passionate speech in defense of public education in the native language.
Ivan Kurovets – (January 17, 1863, village of Batyatichy, Zhovkva County, Kingdom of Galicia and Volodymyr, Austria-Hungary – May 13, 1931, Lviv) – Ukrainian public and political figure, member of the Ukrainian National Council, State Secretary for Health Protection under the government of the ZUNR (1918–1919), Chairman of the Ukrainian Medical Society (1920–1922), Deputy Chairman of the Natural Medicine Commission of the National School of Medicine (1924), Honorary Member of the Ukrainian Medical Society (1927), Dean of the Medical Faculty of the Ukrainian Secret University (1921–1925), Director of the "Narodna Lichnytsia" outpatient clinic (1923–1931).
Oleksa Hirnyk – (March 28, 1912, Bogorodchany, Ivano-Frankivsk region – January 21, 1978, Kaniv, Cherkasy region) – Ukrainian dissident, political prisoner, Hero of Ukraine. On January 21, 1978, on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the proclamation of Ukraine's independence by the Central Rada (January 22, 1918), he committed self-immolation near Shevchenko's grave as a sign of protest against the Russification of Ukraine. Information about this act was hushed up during the years of Soviet power.

Ivan Beley – (pseudonym and cryptonym - Roman Rozmarin, Hnat Pereviznyk and others; 1856, Voynyliv, now the town of Kalush district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, October 20, 1921, Lviv) – Ukrainian journalist, translator and critic. By profession – lawyer. He belonged to the democratic part of the student society "Academic Circle", was a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Friend" (1876–1877). Together with I. Franko and M. Pavlyk published the "Small Library" (1878–1879, 14 issues were published), edited the magazine "World" (1881–1882), on the pages of which he spoke with satirical essays against the negative phenomena of Galician reality. Long-time editor of the newspaper "Dilo" (1884–1902) and its literary supplement "Library of the Most Famous Stories".
Kostyantyna Malytska - (May 30, 1872, Kropyvnyk, Kalush district, Ivano-Frankivsk region - March 17, 1947, Lviv) (literary pseudonyms: Vira Lebedova, Chaika Dnistrova) - Ukrainian poet, prose writer, translator, bibliographer, editor, teacher, activist of cultural and educational societies in Galicia. She is most famous as the author of the popular songs "Chom, chom, chom, my land...", "In the Sich, in the Sich, let's gather brothers."
Ivan Grabivskyi – a national hero of the Cossack era, a priest who led the popular uprising of 1648 in Kalushchyna. Within a short period, an army of 5,000 people was organized. The rebels, having overthrown the city government, established their own, Ukrainian, and made Kalush the stronghold of their activities, the capital. Unfortunately, in December 1648 the uprising was brutally suppressed, and its leaders, led by Ivan Grabivskyi, were executed.
